Towards a NeuroSpatial Insight Engine, University of Helsinki, 20.11.2025
The NeuroSpatial Interaction Engine (NSIE) is a novel integrative framework designed to model human-environment interactions through biosignals and brain activity. By combining EEG, heart rate, and wearable sensor data with GeoAI, schema-driven adaptive design, and latent sequence learning, NSIE captures cognitive and affective responses to spatial stimuli. It leverages ontology-based reasoning and interoceptive/exteroceptive markers to infer mental stress and spatial perception. NSIE aims to serve as a biomarker system for mental health, enabling adaptive environments and personalized interventions in urban, clinical, and educational contexts.
